Cala’n Blanes lies on the west coast and is approximately 30 miles from Mahon.
With the exception of a few fair sized hotels the accommodation is mainly privately owned villas or self catering apartments.
The resort has a good selection of shops and supermarkets catering for everyday holiday essentials.
Cala’n Blanes along with its neighbours Los Delfines and Cala’n Forcat have almost merged to form one resort and is possibly the largest tourist development on Menorca.
Much of the west coast of Menorca is very rugged with rocky inlets but Cala’n Blanes has the best beach in the area and thus can become quite crowded. Conditions for diving and snorkeling are perfect. There is a diving centre in the area catering for experienced and novice divers.
There are a number of themed bars aimed at the British tourist with a fairly lively night life however there are no night clubs.
Small bars and restaurants are numerous providing a variety of food for all tastes including traditional fish restaurants.
For local journeys a mini train runs around the resort, the local bus service operates to Cuitadella on a regular basis.
